Utilising a 360 Degree Appraisal
Running 360 Feedback Projects Effectively & Ethically
Practical skills to implement and use a 360 degree feedback process — covering when 360 is the right tool, how to configure and interpret it on GeneSys, and the ethical practice that surrounds it.
A Practical Guide to Multi-Rater Feedback
This half-day training provides psychology professionals and HR practitioners with the knowledge and practical skills to implement and use a 360 degree feedback process effectively and ethically. Participants gain a clear understanding of how multi-rater feedback provides a broader view of workplace behaviour, how to interpret gaps between self and other ratings, and how competencies translate organisational expectations into observable behaviours.
The programme covers the appropriate developmental uses of 360 feedback — including leadership development, coaching, team development, succession planning and training needs analysis. It also clarifies what a 360 isn't, and why it should not be used as a psychometric test, selection tool or disciplinary mechanism.
Practical guidance is provided on configuring and managing a GeneSys 360 project, generating and interpreting reports, and applying the Psytech Universal Competency Framework. A strong emphasis is placed on ethical practice — including informed consent, rater selection, confidentiality, POPIA compliance and responsible feedback delivery.

Where 360 Feedback Adds Value
Developmental applications where multi-rater feedback earns its place.
Leadership Development
Ground leadership development in structured, multi-perspective feedback on observable behaviour.
Coaching
A concrete starting point for coaching conversations — backed by feedback from the people who actually work with the coachee.
Team Development
Surface patterns across the team and use them to inform team-level development conversations.
Succession Planning
Add a multi-source view of capability to succession discussions — complementing other inputs rather than replacing them.
Training Needs Analysis
Identify where the gap between expected and observed behaviour suggests the need for targeted training.
Self-Awareness
Surface the gaps between self-view and others' views — the foundation of durable, behaviour-level self-awareness.
What a 360 Is Not
A 360 should not be used as a psychometric test, a selection tool or a disciplinary mechanism. The training spends time on these boundaries — so participants leave with a clear view of when a 360 is the right instrument, and when it isn't.
From Principles to GeneSys Project
The concepts, the tooling and the ethical practice that make a 360 project successful.
Multi-Rater Feedback
Understand how multi-rater feedback provides a broader view of workplace behaviour than any single source.
Self vs Other Gaps
Interpret the gaps between self-ratings and other ratings — reading them as development signal, not scoring.
Competencies in Practice
Understand how competencies translate organisational expectations into observable behaviours that raters can actually rate.
GeneSys 360 Configuration
Configure and manage a GeneSys 360 project end-to-end — from framework selection through to reporting.
Generating & Interpreting Reports
Generate 360 reports and interpret them in a way that makes development conversations actionable.
Psytech Universal Competency Framework
Apply the Psytech Universal Competency Framework — or adapt your own — to the needs of the project.
Informed Consent & Rater Selection
Run an ethical process — from informed consent through to thoughtful rater selection.
Confidentiality & POPIA
Protect confidentiality and align the process with POPIA-compliant data protection practices.
Responsible Feedback Delivery
Deliver 360 feedback in a way that supports development rather than defensiveness.
Grounded in Responsible Practice
Strong emphasis is placed on the ethical practice that should surround every 360 project — informed consent, rater selection, confidentiality, POPIA compliance and responsible feedback delivery. The workshop is accredited for 1 HPCSA general CEU point.
